Within the Project of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua (UACH), in the new University Campus, located north of the urban area next to the University Stadium, is the building that hosts the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences.
One of the fundamental aspects for the concept of the building was the coexistence without losing the control and the order of the student population; under this premise, 4 buildings were ordered from a lobby that functions as a distributor to access the different areas and in turn, as a space of co-occurrence and multiple uses for the enjoyment of users.
A. Destined in its greater surface to the administrative area, the “A” building accommodates in its ground floor two multi-purpose rooms, an elevator and services. On the second floor there are gyms for spinning and pilates. The third level houses the Administrative and Academic secretariats, in addition to the Directorate. Finally, in the fourth level there are the Extension and Dissemination Secretariats and the Planning Department, and an Audiovisual room accessible to the entire Faculty.
B. It hosts academic areas, such as the Physiotherapy and Early Stimulation Laboratories. On the second floor of building “B” are the classrooms for postgraduate students. The last two levels are proposed for undergraduate classrooms, with a total of 16 teaching spaces, each with a capacity for 36 people.
C. “C” Building also houses academic areas, such as the Nutrition, Bromatology, Biochemistry, Anthropometry, Physiology and Physical Activity and Health Laboratories, individually located on the first level; on the second floor there is the Library and the Computer Center of the Faculty.
Identical as the B building, the last 2 levels of the “C” building house a total of 16 undergraduate classrooms, obtaining a total capacity of 1152 students per shift for the Degrees on both buildings.
D. It is located at the back of the complex as a backyard of the Central Courtyard, the “D# building is destined in its ground floor for the basketball training court with capacity for 500 spectators and the semi-Olympic pool with stands for up to 240 spectators, in addition to the weights gymnasium, showers, toilets and dressing rooms and in other hand, the machine room. On the second floor, overlooking the double height, are the area of treadmills and stationary bicycles; The last level also houses a perimeter circuit for warming up athletes and the cafeteria, as well as the area for climate equipment.
